Snoop Dogg joins Swansea City as co-owner

Rapper and entertainment icon Snoop Dogg has become a co-owner of Championship side Swansea City after acquiring a minority stake in the club.

The 53-year-old star, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was the surprise model for Swansea’s 2025-26 home kit launch last weekend, and the club has now confirmed his official involvement in their ownership group.

“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement on the club’s website. “The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me. I’m proud to be part of Swansea City.”

Swansea’s ownership group, led by American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen, has been actively expanding its investor base. In April, the club announced that Real Madrid and Croatia legend Luka Modric—who recently joined AC Milan as a player—had also taken a stake. Now, Snoop Dogg, with his massive global following of over 100 million social media fans, has pledged “to do all I can to help the club.”

His involvement reportedly stems from a mutual connection with Cravatt and Cohen. The club’s owners have emphasized their strategy of increasing Swansea’s global profile to boost revenue, which would allow for greater investment in the squad under financial regulations.

“To borrow a phrase from Snoop’s back catalogue, this announcement is the next episode for Swansea City as we seek to create new opportunities to boost the club’s reach and profile,” the owners said in a statement. “Snoop’s colossal global fan base and audience will certainly help us do that, and he has made clear to us throughout this process just how excited he is at the prospect of joining the club.”

They added that Snoop Dogg’s passion for football aligns with their ambitions: “Snoop has openly shared his love of football and his desire to be involved in the game, and we expect his involvement to support us putting as competitive a team as possible out on the field.”

While his appearance in the kit launch seemed unexpected, Swansea hinted at a deeper partnership. To commemorate his new role, the club unveiled a mural of the hip-hop legend in the West Stand of Swansea.com Stadium.

Meanwhile, Cravatt and Cohen—despite being based in the U.S.—have been actively engaged with the team, recently visiting Swansea’s pre-season training camp in Spain. The club shared photos on social media of the owners interacting with players and staff, signaling their hands-on approach ahead of the new season.
