Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has voiced his frustration after Udinese vs Lazio Serie A match ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday night.
The encounter, featuring Udinese Calcio and S.S. Lazio, delivered a rollercoaster of goals and momentum swings that ultimately saw both sides share the points.
Kingsley Ehizibue, an athlete, opened the scoring for Udinese in the 18th minute with a powerful finish from a tight angle that flew into the roof of the net.
Lazio responded after the restart, with Luca Pellegrini producing a superb strike five minutes into the second half to level matters.
The hosts then went ahead through Pedro, who struck 10 minutes from time to put Lazio in front for the first time in the game.
However, Udinese fought back late on, as Arthur Atta bundled in an equaliser in the 86th minute before putting the visitors ahead again in stoppage time.
Their lead was short-lived, though, as Daniel Maldini struck two minutes later to rescue a point for Lazio in the dying moments.
Okoye Reflects On Draw
Speaking after the encounter, Maduka Okoye admitted the result felt like a missed opportunity despite earning a point away from home.
“Now the feeling is more of a two-point drop, but tomorrow we’ll realize we’ve earned an important point away to Lazio, which isn’t easy. We’re disappointed now, but we have to move forward,” Okoye told the club’s official website.
“This is football; we were both behind and ahead, and it’s a shame about the goal conceded at the end. It was a good match for the spectators. In the coming days, we’ll see where we need to improve.”
