Fubara swears in five special advisers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday swore in five new special advisers, emphasizing the need for teamwork and commitment to his administration’s vision.

The newly appointed advisers are Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Professor Peter Medee, Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Victor Ekaro, and Darlington Orji. The ceremony took place at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Addressing the appointees, Governor Fubara said the appointments were aimed at strengthening collaboration within the state government and ensuring smooth and efficient governance.

“What we are doing today is bringing capable individuals on board to ensure that the wheels of governance continue to roll smoothly in our state,” he said.

The governor noted that the new advisers were familiar with his administration’s philosophy, having previously worked in various capacities under his leadership. “I believe these appointees are not new faces. They have worked with us before and understand the philosophy of this administration. This familiarity will ensure our goals are achieved,” he added.

Fubara urged the advisers to approach their roles with diligence, discipline, and a sense of shared responsibility.

“This is not about ceremony or recognition; it is about work. Every one of you has proven yourselves in the past, and I am confident that this time will be no different,” he said.

He further encouraged them to focus on service delivery, saying, “Our social agreement with the people of Rivers is simple—we work. This is a rare opportunity to contribute meaningfully to governance, and we must not let them down.”

The appointments follow a minor cabinet reshuffle earlier this week, which saw the redeployment of Commissioner for Sports, Barr. Christopher Green, to the Ministry of Justice as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

Governor Fubara reiterated his commitment to purposeful leadership and effective service delivery, expressing confidence that the new team of advisers would work cohesively to advance the state’s development agenda.
