Speaking after the exercise, Owokoniran described the primaries as peaceful and orderly, noting that all 13 federal constituency results had been successfully declared.

“This is the final declaration. We have declared 13 out of 13 federal constituency results. We want the whole world to know that the election was conducted in a very peaceful atmosphere,” he said.

He also dismissed perceptions that Rivers State is prone to violence during political activities.

“There was no rancour, no infighting, and no problem whatsoever. Contrary to the impression out there that Rivers State is violent, the process was peaceful,” Owokoniran added.

Also speaking, the APC Publicity Secretary in Rivers State, Chibike Ikenga, urged the winners to remain humble and work towards uniting party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“You must be humble in victory. Winning today does not mean you have won the general election. The task now is to bring everyone together to ensure victory for the party,” Ikenga said.

The primary elections were reported to have been peaceful, with many of the successful aspirants identified as political allies of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Several of them are linked to the “Rainbow Coalition” or “Joint Coalition,” a political alliance aimed at strengthening support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 elections.
