Nigerian striker, Tolu Arokodare, scored his seventh goal of the season as Ajax were held to a 1-1 draw by NEC Nijmegen in their Eredivisie Matchday Eight encounter on Saturday.
Arokodare opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a powerful header to give Ajax an early lead.
The Nigerian celebrated the goal in support of teammate Kasper Dolberg, who recently suffered a serious knee injury.
NEC Nijmegen responded in the 19th minute when Tjaronn Chery converted a penalty to restore parity.
Both teams pushed for a winning goal, but neither could find the breakthrough as the encounter ended in a stalemate.
The draw leaves Ajax fifth in the Eredivisie standings with 15 points, five behind league leaders Feyenoord.
