Feyenoord bounced back from their Champions League defeat to Barcelona in emphatic fashion on Sunday, crushing PEC Zwolle 7-0 in the Eredivisie.
The Rotterdam giants, who suffered a 5-1 loss to Barcelona in midweek, quickly took control and eventually secured their biggest-ever victory over Zwolle.
Simon Graves inadvertently put Feyenoord ahead in the 18th minute when Nacho Ferri’s effort deflected off the defender and into the net.
Ferri then got on the scoresheet himself shortly afterwards, converting a pass from Givairo Read to double Feyenoord’s advantage.
Gjivai Zechiel added a third before the break, finishing from another Read assist as Feyenoord went into half-time with a commanding lead.
Ferri completed his hat-trick early in the second half before Anis Hadj Moussa increased the deficit with a fine finish into the top corner.
Seventeen-year-old Jivayno Zinhagel made it 6-0 after turning in another cross from Read, who registered his third assist of the afternoon.
Hadj Moussa completed the rout with his second goal as Feyenoord sealed a record 7-0 victory, handing Zwolle the heaviest defeat in the club’s history.
