Nineteen of the 25 invited players have arrived at the Super Falcons’ training camp in Casablanca, with only six yet to join the squad, according to the Nigeria Football Federation, as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The defending champions continued their build-up to the tournament on Sunday ahead of their Group B opener against Malawi on July 28, with head coach Justine Madugu supervising a training session involving 15 players at the La Noria Club.
The squad received another lift with the arrival of BK Hacken teammates Halimatu Ayinde and Joy Omewa in Casablanca. Meanwhile, Pachuca Tuzas defender Osinachi Ohale and forward Chinwendu Ihezuo were on their way to the Moroccan camp.
Players already with the team include captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Shukurat Oladipo, Rofiat Imuran, Glory Ogbonna, Oluwatosin Demehin, Sikiratu Isah and Christy Ucheibe, midfielders Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini, and forwards Asisat Oshoala, Francisca Ordega and Omorinsola Babajide. Goalkeepers Comfort Erhabor and Fatima Oloko are also in camp.
The remaining six players expected to complete the squad are defender Michelle Alozie, midfielder Deborah Abiodun, and forwards Gift Monday, Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi and Uchenna Kanu.
With most of the squad now assembled, the Super Falcons have stepped up preparations as they aim to begin their quest for a record-extending 10th WAFCON title with victory over Malawi before facing the other Group B opponents.
