The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to take on Cape Verde in a pair of international friendlies later this month.
While the exact dates and venue for the matches are yet to be confirmed, the fixtures are expected to take place during the upcoming women’s international break.
This follows the Falcons’ recent friendlies against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses during the last international window, as the team ramps up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Originally scheduled for March, the WAFCON 2026 has now been postponed to July. Nigeria will compete in Group C alongside debutants Malawi, as well as Zambia and Egypt.
Cape Verde, making their first-ever appearance in the biennial tournament, are drawn in Group D with Cameroon, Ghana, and Mali.
The WAFCON 2026 finals will double as the qualifying tournament for next year’s Women’s World Cup in Brazil, adding extra stakes to the competition.
