Nigeria’s Super Falcons were crowned National Team of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco.
The honour comes on the heels of their outstanding showing at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where the team clinched a record 10th continental title.
In a dramatic final, the Nigerian side overcame hosts Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses with a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory, despite heading into the break two goals down.
Under the guidance of coach Justine Madugu, the Falcons displayed remarkable resilience to turn the game around.
The Nigerian team edged out both Morocco and Ghana’s Black Queens to secure the prestigious award.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, accepted the trophy on behalf of the Super Falcons.
