The Super Falcons have received a major boost ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after Deborah Abiodun and Gift Monday linked up with the squad at the Marriott Hotel camp in Casablanca, Morocco.
Their arrival means head coach Justine Madugu now has all 25 invited players available as the team steps up preparations for the continental championship.
Abiodun and Monday had been due to arrive on Tuesday, but travel disruptions from the United States delayed their journey after their scheduled flight was cancelled.
As a result, both players were unavailable for Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Tanzania’s Twiga Stars in an international friendly on Thursday night, the Falcons’ final tune-up match before the tournament.
Abiodun featured for Nigeria at the previous edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, while Monday narrowly missed making the squad for that competition.
The nine-time African champions are expected to leave Casablanca for Rabat on Friday, where they will contest their Group C fixtures.
Nigeria will kick off their title defence against Malawi’s Scorchers on Tuesday before facing Zambia and Egypt in their other group-stage matches.
