Salah gets six-month driving ban over speeding case in UK

Former Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, has been banned from driving for six months after his Rolls-Royce was caught speeding in Cheshire, United Kingdom.

The 34-year-old was prosecuted after the vehicle was recorded travelling at 36mph on a road with a 30mph speed limit in Wilmslow on March 27, according to court documents.

Salah failed to identify the person driving the vehicle when contacted by the police following the speed-camera offence.

He also did not respond to the prosecution notice and did not enter a plea to the charge.

At a hearing at Warrington Combined Court, the Egypt captain was handed a six-month driving ban and ordered to pay £1,044.

A court spokeswoman said Salah was prosecuted under the Single Justice Procedure, which allows magistrates to deal with certain cases in private hearings.

He was convicted of failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver of the Rolls-Royce.

The offence occurred just days after Salah announced that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season, bringing his nine-year spell with the club to an end.

At the time of his departure announcement on March 24, Liverpool said Salah had “firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history”.

Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for Liverpool before completing a move to Turkish club Trabzonspor following the 2025-26 season.
