Cape Verde have pulled out of their scheduled international friendlies against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
The matches, originally set for Wednesday, April 15, and Saturday, April 18, at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, will no longer hold.
The Nigeria Football Federation is now on the lookout for a replacement opponent, though reports suggest that finding one on such short notice could prove challenging.
Despite the setback, the Super Falcons are still expected to gather in Abuja this weekend. The fixtures were part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July.
Justine Madugu’s side last faced Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses during the previous international window, suffering a 1-0 defeat in the first friendly before bouncing back with a 3-1 victory in the second encounter.
