The Nigeria Football Federation has approved the appointments of Abdu Maikaba and Eboboritse Uwejamomere as the new head coaches of Nigeria’s U-20 and U-17 male national teams respectively.
Maikaba will take charge of the Flying Eagles following years of experience in the domestic league and the national team setup.
The experienced tactician had previously worked with the Golden Eaglets and also served as assistant coach of the Flying Eagles during Paul Aigbogun’s tenure.
Over the years, Maikaba has handled some of Nigeria’s top clubs, including Enyimba FC, Wikki Tourists, Kano Pillars and Plateau United.
He is also remembered for guiding Akwa United to victory in the 2017 President Federation Cup.
Meanwhile, Uwejamomere has been named head coach of the Golden Eaglets, Nigeria’s five-time FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning side.
Before his latest appointment, Uwejamomere worked for several years as a coach-analyst with the Super Eagles.
He currently serves as head of academy at Sporting Lagos FC, which recently secured promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The young coach has also been part of the Super Falcons’ technical crew and previously worked in youth development roles at English clubs Millwall FC, Gillingham FC and Nottingham Forest FC.
