The Anambra State Government has approved contracts worth approximately ₦4.7 billion for critical infrastructure projects, including roads, electricity, and public facilities, aimed at improving the lives of residents across the state.

State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, said the approvals and other key decisions were made during the 23rd Executive Council meeting held at the Light House, Awka, on Monday.

Speaking on the planned December festivities, Mefor said, “We are committed to giving Ndi Anambra the most memorable December experience ever, branded ‘Onwa Dezemba.’ The celebrations will feature masquerade festivals, Christmas carols, musical fiestas with top Nigerian artists, and more, to create a Christmas unlike any other.”

Among the projects approved, the council allocated N330 million for the rehabilitation of Court Road and Obunagu Road in Awka Metropolis, N443 million for fire-fighting equipment at the College of Nursing Sciences in Umueze-Isuofia, and N1.77 billion for the construction of the Ikenga-Isuofia-Igboukwu Discharge Channel.
