Nigeria’s Super Falcons will return to the training ground on Monday evening as they step up preparations for their crucial final Group C clash against Egypt at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The session is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. local time at the ASFAR Training Centre in Rabat, where head coach Justine Madugu is expected to put the finishing touches to his tactical plans ahead of Wednesday’s must-win encounter.
The nine-time African champions took things easy on Sunday, holding a recovery session and participating in other team activities after battling to a 1-0 victory over Zambia at Al Madina Stadium on Saturday.
Asisat Oshoala netted the decisive goal early in the contest, while the Super Falcons produced a determined defensive display to protect their lead despite playing the entire second half with 10 players after Oluwatosin Demehin was sent off just before halftime.
The hard-earned victory reignited Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the quarter-finals following their disappointing 3-2 loss to tournament newcomers Malawi in their opening Group C fixture.
Attention has now turned to Egypt, with Madugu’s side knowing that another victory should secure qualification for the knockout stage.
Beyond sealing a place in the last eight, the Super Falcons will be eager to record a convincing win to improve their standing in the group and carry positive momentum into the quarter-finals.
Egypt head into the match having suffered defeats in both of their previous outings, losing 6-0 to Zambia before falling 3-1 to Malawi.
Wednesday’s decisive Group C fixture will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, where Nigeria will be aiming to end the group stage on a winning note and keep alive their bid for a record-extending 11th WAFCON crown.
