Trabzonspor have rejected an €11 million offer from a Saudi Arabian club for Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, according to reports from Turkish outlet Takagazete.
The Nigerian forward, who emerged as joint-top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig last season, has continued to attract interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League following his impressive campaign.
Despite the growing interest, Trabzonspor are believed to be holding out for a higher transfer fee before considering the sale of the prolific striker.
Saudi giants Al-Ahli were also said to have made an attempt to sign the former FC Midtjylland attacker during the January transfer window, but their approach was unsuccessful.
Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan recently disclosed that the club had received offers for seven players, although he suggested that only one or two departures are expected this summer.
Ivory Coast midfielder Christ Inao Oulaï and Felipe Augusto are among the players reportedly being monitored for possible exits.
Meanwhile, head coach Fatih Tekke is understood to be willing to sanction Onuachu’s departure as he looks to bring in a striker with greater mobility.
Onuachu returned to Trabzonspor permanently last summer after a successful loan spell during the 2023/24 season.
The 31-year-old enjoyed an outstanding debut campaign, scoring 22 league goals to finish as joint-top scorer alongside Eldor Shomurodov. He also became the sixth player in Trabzonspor’s history to win the league’s scoring title.
The towering forward further cemented his place among the club’s fans after netting twice in Trabzonspor’s 2-1 victory over Konyaspor in last month’s Turkish Cup final.
