Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu, experienced a dramatic evening, swinging from hero to heartbreaker, as Trabzonspor played out a 1-1 draw with Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.
The Super Eagles striker marked his 13th goal of the season in 17 league appearances, but a missed late penalty denied his side all three points.
Antalyaspor struck first just before halftime, with Sander Van de Streek finding the net in the 42nd minute.
Onuachu restored parity in the 53rd minute, calmly converting a penalty for Trabzonspor.
Later, the striker had a chance to snatch victory from the spot, only to see his effort miss its mark.
The draw leaves Trabzonspor in third place with 42 points, four adrift of league leaders Galatasaray.
Onuachu, who was part of the Super Eagles squad that reached the AFCON semi-finals in Morocco, scored once at the tournament in Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Uganda in the group stage finale.
