Nigeria’s Super Falcons staged a spirited comeback to defeat Cameroon 3-1 in their international friendly ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé on Tuesday.
The Indomitable Lionesses, who had edged the first meeting between both teams last weekend, struck early in this encounter.
Christiane handed the hosts the advantage just seven minutes into the contest.
Nigeria responded positively and found their equaliser in the 32nd minute through Chiwendu Ihezuo.
The forward rose inside the area to head home after connecting with a well-delivered cross from Omorinsola Babajide.
The Super Falcons completed the turnaround shortly before the halftime whistle.
Babajide, left completely unmarked inside the box, made no mistake as she calmly slotted past the Cameroonian goalkeeper to put the visitors ahead.
After the restart, the nine-time African champions maintained control and extended their lead in the 64th minute. Right-back Michelle Alozie powered in a header from close range, finishing off a precise cross from captain Rasheedat Ajibade.
Justine Madugu’s side continued to press for more goals and fashioned several additional opportunities, but they were unable to increase the margin further as the match ended 3-1 in Nigeria’s favour.
