Bayern Munich manager, Vincent Kompany, has revealed that Jamal Musiala is set to return to action for the club in January.
The young midfielder suffered a serious injury, a broken left leg and an ankle dislocation, during Bayern’s Club World Cup quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite the setback, Musiala has been making strong progress in his recovery.
On Monday, Musiala even completed his first light training session with the team, marking a significant milestone after his extended absence from competitive football.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Kompany provided an update on Musiala’s comeback timeline.
“Jamal is close,” he said. “Hopefully next week. But I want to be very clear: zero pressure on Jamal and the medical department. Hopefully he can get in a few training sessions before Christmas.
“That would simply feel good – for the team and for him. And then his first minutes on the pitch should follow in January. That would be an ideal plan for us.”
