Bayern’s Allianz Arena to host 2028 UCL final

UEFA on Friday confirmed that Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena stands as the lone contender to host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, while London’s Wembley Stadium and Barcelona’s refurbished Camp Nou are in contention for the 2029 edition.

Munich emerged as the only city to submit a bid for the 2028 final, following its turn as host in 2025 when Paris Saint-Germain routed Inter Milan 5–0.

The Bavarian city has a rich history with Europe’s premier club competition, having staged the final in 1979, 1993, and 1997 at the Olympic Stadium, and later in 2012 and 2025 at the Allianz Arena.

This season’s showpiece match is set for Budapest’s Puskás Arena, while Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium will take its turn in 2027.
