Bayern Munich have announced a two-year contract extension for head coach Vincent Kompany, keeping him at the helm until 2029.
Kompany, who took charge of the Bavarian giants in the summer of 2024 after an unexpected appointment, quickly silenced doubts by reclaiming the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen in his first season.
Now in his second campaign, the 39-year-old Belgian has guided Bayern to a flawless start, winning all 11 matches across both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
“It feels like I’ve been here a lot longer and that I know the club well,” the former Manchester City captain said in a statement.
“It’s been a great experience so far. We’ve started on a wonderful journey. Let’s keep working hard and celebrate much more success!”
