Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu, expressed frustration with officiating in the Turkish Super Lig after Trabzonspor fell 1-0 to Fenerbahçe on Sunday night.
The 31-year-old striker had initially thought he put his team ahead in the 11th minute, nodding home a first-half goal.
However, after a VAR review, referee Ozan Ergün disallowed the effort due to a foul in the build-up.
Onuachu, clearly upset by the decision, was shown a yellow card for dissent and later shared his thoughts following the final whistle.
“It’s a shame for the Turkish league! They have to do better,” he told reporters while walking through the tunnel.
Trabzonspor were unable to recover, with Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri scoring the decisive goal to hand Fenerbahçe the victory.
