Oyebanji retains SSG, chief of staff, CPS for second term

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reappointed the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary for his second term in office.

The appointments were announced on Friday night, shortly after Oyebanji was sworn in for another four-year term following his re-election in the June 20 governorship election.

In a statement, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode, said the appointments would take immediate effect.

The statement read, “Following his inauguration for a second term of office, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Oyebanji, has approved the appointments of Prof. Habibat Adubiaro as Secretary to the State Government; Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo as Chief of Staff to the Governor; and Mr Olayinka Oyebode as Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.”

The three officials previously occupied the same positions during the governor’s first term.

Their reappointment comes five days after the state government dissolved the State Executive Council on October 12 as part of the transition process at the end of Oyebanji’s first term.

The governor’s decision to retain the three officials ensures continuity in the key administrative and communications offices of his administration as he begins his second term.
