Oyebanji promises more impactful second term in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has pledged to deliver greater results during his second term, expressing optimism that the state will witness more progress over the next four years.

Oyebanji attributed the achievements of his first term to God’s grace and the support of President Bola Tinubu, while expressing appreciation to residents for their support.

The governor made the remarks during an eight-hour praise and worship programme organised in Ado Ekiti as part of activities marking the end of his first term and preparations for his second-term inauguration.

Oyebanji, who won re-election in the June 20 governorship election, is scheduled to be sworn in on Friday, October 16.

Speaking at the religious gathering, the governor expressed confidence that his administration would perform better in the coming years.

“With God’s grace and support of the people, my second term will be far more impactful than the first,” he said.

Oyebanji explained that the decision to organise the eight-hour programme was driven by his desire to thank God for the administration’s accomplishments and seek divine guidance for the next four years.

He said he had told his wife during preparations for the inauguration that dedicating eight hours to praise and worship was his priority.

“I actually don’t have much to say today other than to explain the reason I chose to have this ‘Eight hours of praise worship’ to God,” the governor said.

He added that the programme was divided into two parts, with four hours dedicated to appreciating God for the administration’s first four years and another four hours for the incoming term.

The event attracted worshippers, government officials, political leaders and other residents of Ekiti State.

Also speaking, Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, commended the governor for his leadership and commitment to the state’s development.

Bamidele described the praise programme as evidence of Oyebanji’s gratitude to God and urged him to remain focused on delivering good governance.

He expressed confidence that the governor would build on his administration’s achievements and exceed expectations during his second term.

Similarly, the Managing Director of Premium Trust Bank, Dr Emmanuel Emefienim, expressed optimism that Ekiti State would experience greater prosperity under Oyebanji’s incoming administration.

Emefienim described the gathering as both an expression of gratitude and a declaration of faith in the state’s future.

He said, “You have sent grace ahead of the second term. The best way to fight in the spiritual realm is to praise God even before the fight begins.”

The bank chief added that he believed the governor’s second term would deliver better outcomes than the first.

“I believe that the next four years, by the grace of God, will be better than the first four,” he said.

Emefienim further described the programme as a significant event whose spiritual impact could be remembered by present and future generations of Ekiti residents.
