An Ekiti State-based mini-truck driver, Adeleye Adeniyi, has disclosed that he borrowed N3.5m to support the re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba.
According to The Punch, Adeniyi, popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO”, made the disclosure in a video interview with journalists circulating on Friday.
He displayed a cardboard cheque indicating N2m for Tinubu, N1m for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba.
Explaining his decision to borrow the money, the driver said he was impressed by the performance of the politicians and was willing to campaign for their return to office in the forthcoming elections.
“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.
He also pledged to mobilise support for Tinubu and use a campaign song to promote the President’s re-election bid.
“Like I said again, I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand.”
Appealing to Nigerians to vote for Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba, Adeniyi expressed confidence that another term for the President would bring further benefits to the country.
“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” he said.
The driver also commended Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as their contributions to healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure.
“Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, this man, I pray that we are still going to higher places. Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on, you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.
Adeniyi had previously attracted attention in February 2026 after reportedly obtaining a loan through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s second-term ambition.
The driver, who operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, said his earlier decision was driven by his admiration for the governor’s administration.
He also praised Oyebanji and Tinubu for their policies on education, healthcare and citizens’ welfare, urging residents to support the governor’s re-election.
In the latest video, Adeniyi reiterated his commitment to the politicians, revealing that he had taken another loan to demonstrate his support.
