The Nigeria Immigration Service has registered 516 additional Nigerians under its ongoing Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom, bringing the total number of applicants enrolled so far to 5,099.
The latest registrations were recorded at the designated centres in London and Manchester on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
In its Day 12 update shared on Sunday, the NIS said 370 applicants were enrolled in Manchester, while 146 were registered in London.
The service stated, “The Special Passport Intervention Exercise continued yesterday across the London and Manchester Centres uninterrupted, with a total of 516 applicants enrolled, 370 in Manchester and 146 in London.”
It added that the latest figure had raised the cumulative number of applicants enrolled since the commencement of the exercise to 5,099.
According to the NIS, passport production and dispatch for applicants who had already completed the enrolment process are also progressing smoothly.
“The exercise remains ongoing, and applicants are enjoined to continue cooperating with officials,” the service said.
The intervention programme began on September 7, 2026, following a directive from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to address outstanding passport applications involving Nigerians residing in the UK.
The exercise covers new passport applications, renewals and other pending cases.
The NIS extended the operation in London and Manchester following high demand from applicants, beyond the initial mid-September timeline.
Applicants seeking to participate are required to schedule appointments through the approved channels and appear at the designated centres with the necessary documents.
