Atalanta manager, Ivan Juric, has confirmed that Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman will be in contention for selection when La Dea face Torino in Serie A on Sunday.
Juric, however, acknowledged that the forward is yet to regain peak fitness.
Lookman only rejoined the Bergamo outfit a few days before the season kicked off, following his failed bid to force a move to Inter Milan last month.
The 27-year-old had handed in a transfer request and openly criticized the club during the standoff.
During the saga, the ex-Leicester City winger trained alone in England for two weeks while waiting for Inter to strike a deal.
Now reintegrated into the squad, Lookman is set to make his first appearance of the season against Torino.
Juric on Lookman
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Saturday, Juric revealed that the Nigerian was warmly welcomed back into the fold after Friday’s training session.
“He’s spoken with me, the team and my staff. He was well received and from tomorrow, he will begin to be available to us,” Juric said.
“He’s not in the best condition given that he’s been training alone up until now. He did very well in training (on Friday).”
