Former Atalanta midfielder, Michel Adopo, has voiced strong confidence that Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman, will get on the scoresheet against Arsenal in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie.
Adopo, who previously shared a dressing room with Lookman at Atalanta, believes the Nigerian forward is well placed to make an impact in the high-profile clash at the Emirates Stadium, where Atletico will be pushing for a place in the final after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
Lookman, who played a key role in Atalanta’s European success during his time at the club, is expected to be one of the decisive figures in the return fixture.
Reflecting on their time together and Lookman’s development, Adopo said, “After the triumph, I remember that Ademola himself didn’t understand the importance of his performance,” the 25-year-old said an interview with The Sun.
He also highlighted the forward’s current move as a major step in his career, adding, “Atletico is an amazing opportunity for Ademola. Finally, he is at a giant club.
“I actually believe he will score against Arsenal.” Michel Adopo concluded.
