Paris FC have rejected a request from the French Professional Football League to stage Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 trophy presentation at the Stade Jean-Bouin.
The ceremony was expected to take place after next Sunday’s anticipated Paris derby between the two clubs.
According to reports from Le Parisien cited by Elbotola, Paris FC officials declined the proposal, insisting they would not allow PSG’s title celebrations to be held at their home stadium.
The LFP had considered the Stade Jean-Bouin as one of the possible venues for the trophy presentation, but Paris FC’s decision has now forced the league body to reconsider its plans for the coronation ceremony.
French media reports also revealed that security authorities have refused permission for major celebrations at some proposed venues across Paris, further complicating arrangements for the event.
PSG officially secured the Ligue 1 title after defeating Lens 2-0 in their postponed league fixture on Wednesday, needing only a draw to confirm their status as champions.
Attention will now turn to the UEFA Champions League final on May 30, where Luis Enrique’s men will face Arsenal.
The Parisians will be aiming to successfully defend the trophy they won in emphatic fashion last season following a dominant 5-0 victory over Inter Milan.
