Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has maintained that he is innocent of the allegations against him in the United Kingdom, saying he remained confident because he knew he had done nothing wrong.
Poco Lee made this known during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who posted the footage on his Instagram page on Sunday.
The entertainer said his major concerns during the period were his associates and business affairs, rather than the allegations he was facing.
“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone.
“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,” he said.
VeryDarkMan also expressed his support for Poco Lee, questioning the circumstances surrounding reports about the dancer’s situation in the UK.
He also acknowledged the support given to Poco Lee by singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago.
The comments came amid conflicting reports circulating online about the status of the criminal case against Poco Lee, with some reports claiming that he had been released from prison, while others alleged that the complainant had withdrawn from the case or that the matter had been settled out of court.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service said the case remained active and confirmed that Odinaka was scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Responding to an inquiry by The Punch on Saturday, the CPS Press Office said, “This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026.”
The hearing, known as a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing, is a pre-trial proceeding during which issues concerning the defendant’s plea and preparation for trial are considered.
The CPS did not disclose whether Odinaka was currently in custody or had been granted bail.
The PUNCH has contacted Snaresbrook Crown Court for clarification on his current custody or bail status and is awaiting a response.
Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The case reportedly followed his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.
Snaresbrook Crown Court had earlier confirmed that the case was listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15.
The court also imposed a reporting restriction to protect the identity of the complainant under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
Poco Lee has denied committing the alleged offences.
The charges remain before the court and have not been determined, and the dancer has not been convicted of any offence.
