Former Delta gov Emmanuel Uduaghan reportedly dies

Former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, has reportedly died, according to sources close to his family cited by SaharaReporters.

The online newspaper reported on Monday that the sources confirmed his death, although details surrounding the circumstances were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.

One of the sources reportedly confirmed the development, saying, “Uduaghan is no more; he is dead.”

The reported death comes months after Uduaghan’s family dismissed rumours circulating on social media that the former governor had passed away.

In June, claims of his death spread across Facebook and WhatsApp, prompting his media aide, Henry Unini, to clarify that he was alive and receiving medical attention.

“I can tell you for a fact that Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan is alive,” Unini said at the time.

He acknowledged that the former governor had been experiencing health challenges but maintained that he was receiving appropriate care.

“It is now common knowledge that Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has been sick, but he is receiving proper medical care,” the aide stated.

Unini also assured the public that Uduaghan was recovering, adding, “There is no cause for alarm whatsoever.”

He subsequently urged members of the public to refrain from circulating unverified reports about the former governor’s condition.

As of the time of filing this report, further details about the reported death had yet to emerge.
