The Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) has announced June 19, 2026, as the final deadline for registration of clubs participating in the 2025/2026 FCT FA Division One League in Abuja.
The association initially set May 30 as the registration closing date, which began on April 8, but later extended it by about three weeks to give clubs more time to complete the process.
FCT FA Secretary, Haruna Ilerika, said the extension was necessary to ensure adequate participation from interested teams.
He explained: “This is to give clubs adequate time to complete their payments.”
According to him, registration fees have been set at ₦150,000 for Division One clubs and ₦120,000 for Division Two clubs.
Clubs are expected to make payments into the designated FCT FA account and submit proof of payment clearly indicating their team names for proper verification.
Ilerika also confirmed that the league season is scheduled to kick off on June 29, stressing that no further extension would be granted beyond the new deadline.
He warned that any Division One club that fails to register before the deadline will be automatically replaced.
He said: “The Division One League will kick off on June 29, and no further extension will be granted for registration.”
He added that strict compliance is required to ensure the smooth commencement of the season.
“The association warns that any Division One club that fails to meet the registration deadline will be automatically replaced,” he stated.
The FCT FA urged all participating clubs to complete their registration processes on time to avoid disqualification and ensure a seamless start to the new football season.
Meanwhile, Sporting Dream Football Club emerged champions of the 2024/2025 Division One League after defeating Golden Boys FC 2–0 in the final played at the Area 3 Football Pitch in Abuja.
In the Division Two category, One Touch FC clinched the title following a 3–0 victory over FHA FC.
