Eintracht Frankfurt’s nine-match unbeaten home streak against Hoffenheim came to an abrupt end as the visitors ran out 3-1 winners at Deutsche Bank Park.
Frankfurt looked to continue their dominance over Hoffenheim on home soil, but the visitors, in excellent form away from home, posed a stern challenge from the start.
Despite the pressure, Die Adler struck first in the 18th minute. A perfectly timed ball over the top from Can Uzun found Arnaud Kalimuendo, who controlled it expertly before firing past Oliver Baumann, marking consecutive games with a goal for the forward.
Frankfurt’s lead was short-lived in spirit, however. Just three minutes later, Ozan Kabak almost leveled for Hoffenheim with a downward header that rattled the left post.
The early goal failed to spark the home side, and as the first half wore on, Hoffenheim began to assert themselves, dominating possession and creating the better chances.
Fisnik Asllani’s stoppage-time cross found Wouter Burger unmarked, but his header was straight at Kaua Santos, keeping the score 1-0 at halftime.
Hoffenheim wasted little time drawing level after the break. Seven minutes into the second half, Burger delivered a precise cross, allowing Max Moerstedt to rise above defenders and head home despite a collision with Santos.
Just eight minutes later, the visitors completed the turnaround as Kabak glided in Burger’s cross to find the far corner.
Hoffenheim didn’t stop there: five minutes later, Vladimir Coufal’s shot from near the byline took a crucial deflection off Aurele Amenda, wrong-footing Santos and doubling the visitors’ advantage.
Frankfurt, now without a manager, struggled to regain control and managed only one further shot on target.
Meanwhile, Hoffenheim’s victory moves them within three points of second-placed Dortmund, consolidating their top-four position.
Frankfurt, on the other hand, remain seventh and are now winless in their last six matches across all competitions.
