Arsenal, Man City EPL title race may go to goal difference — Ex-Chelsea star

Former Chelsea star, Eniola Aluko, has tipped the Premier League title race between Arsenal and Manchester City to be decided on goal difference as the season reaches its climax.

Arsenal moved six points clear at the top of the table after a commanding 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, putting themselves in a strong but not decisive position in the race for the title.

Manchester City, however, still have two matches in hand, starting with their fixture against Everton on Monday night, keeping the pressure firmly on the Gunners.

Speaking as a guest on Monday Night Football on Super Sports, Aluko said she expects the battle for the championship to go right down to the wire.

She also admitted she would personally prefer Arsenal to end their long wait for a league title, despite her Chelsea connection.

“This season’s title race could go down to goal difference. I have been enjoying the way Arsenal fans have been crying over the last few days.

“I think to switch it off, you know. Man City have won a lot in the last six years, and it will be good to see Arsenal lift the title even though I am a Chelsea fan.

“But it has been 20-odd years, and I think if they lose it after being ahead, it’s going to be devastating for their fanbase and Arteta as well.
