A tanker has caught fire beneath the Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident on Monday, October 19, 2026.
The agency’s spokesperson, Olawale Afolabi, said the emergency agency received a distress alert at about 4:24 p.m. and immediately deployed its response team to the scene.
In a brief message to journalists, Afolabi stated, “Tiger team en route to Otedola. Tanker on fire.”
The agency said its Tiger response team was on its way to the location to respond to the emergency.
As of the time of filing this report, further details about the cause of the fire, possible casualties, the tanker’s contents and the extent of damage had yet to be confirmed.
