Spanish club Sevilla have turned down a €10 million (approximately N16 billion) offer for Nigerian striker Akor Adams, signaling their determination to retain the forward despite growing transfer interest.
The Super Eagles star has attracted attention from several clubs across Europe and the Middle East following an impressive campaign in Spain.
Adams joined Sevilla from French side Montpellier in January 2025 and initially faced a period of adjustment after arriving in La Liga.
However, the 26-year-old quickly found his rhythm and became one of the club’s most influential performers.
The striker finished the season with 10 league goals, including two decisive match-winners during Sevilla’s final four games.
His contributions proved vital as Los Nervionenses secured their La Liga status and avoided relegation.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with clubs from England, France, Italy, and Saudi Arabia all reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, newly promoted Serie A club Venezia recently submitted an offer worth around €10 million for the Nigerian international.
However, Sevilla rejected the proposal as they consider the bid significantly below their valuation of the player.
Venezia, preparing for life back in Italy’s top flight, are eager to strengthen their squad and have identified Adams as one of their primary attacking targets.
The club are also reportedly interested in Nigeria-eligible forward Gift Orban as part of their recruitment plans.
Despite ongoing financial challenges that may force Sevilla to offload players this summer, the Spanish outfit are reluctant to sanction Adams’ departure for anything less than their reported asking price of €25 million.
Although their first approach was unsuccessful, Venezia are expected to return with an improved offer as they continue their pursuit of the striker.
Interest in Adams extends beyond Italy. French heavyweights Olympique Marseille are also tracking the forward as they seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.
Several Premier League clubs, along with teams from Saudi Arabia, are likewise keeping a close watch on developments.
While Adams has indicated a preference to continue his career at Sevilla, a transfer could become a possibility if a suitable offer arrives. Sevilla, meanwhile, remain open to a sale should it help ease their financial situation.
With multiple clubs competing for his signature, the Nigerian forward could find himself at the centre of one of the summer’s notable transfer battles, barely 18 months after making the move to Spain.
