S’Eagles’ Akor ends nine-game goal drought ahead AFCON debut

Super Eagles and Sevilla forward, Akor Adams, is beaming with joy after ending his nine-game goal drought.

The Nigerian striker played a starring role in Sevilla’s 4-0 demolition of Real Oviedo at Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Sunday, scoring once and providing two assists.

Akor put Sevilla ahead just four minutes into the game and later set up Djibril Sow and Batista Mendy for the second and third goals, respectively.

Sevilla’s fourth goal came courtesy of Akor’s international teammate, Chidera Ejuke, late in the match.

Akor in High Spirits
The 25-year-old striker is eager to keep finding the back of the net for Mattias Almeyda’s side.

“I wouldn’t say that. The best is yet to come. The best is yet to come. The best thing is the three points, which we also deserved against Valencia,” Akor told Elsevillista.

“It’s been a great match for me, for the team and for the fans. It’s been a great day for everyone.

“I have the privilege of having been selected by Nigeria. It’s an opportunity you can’t say no to.”
