Super Eagles striker Akor Adams set for Venezia medical

Super Eagles striker, Akor Adams, is expected to travel to Venice on Tuesday to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed transfer to Serie A newcomers Venezia, after the Italian club reached an agreement with Sevilla for his signing.

The 26-year-old will sign a long-term contract once he successfully completes the medical, with the deal worth an initial €17 million.

Performance-related bonuses could increase the total transfer fee to €23 million.

Adams joined Sevilla from French Ligue 1 side Montpellier in January 2025 and quickly became an important figure in the club’s attack.

The Nigerian forward enjoyed an impressive first full campaign in LaLiga, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 32 league appearances for Los Rojiblancos, performances that attracted interest from several clubs before Venezia secured an agreement for his transfer.

The move will see Adams continue his career in Italy’s top flight, where he is expected to play a key role as Venezia prepare for life back in Serie A.

Sevilla to Receive Financial Boost
Adams’ imminent departure is expected to provide Sevilla with a significant financial boost as the Spanish club continues its sporting and financial restructuring.

The proceeds from the transfer will help fund new signings while easing pressure on the club’s wage bill.

His exit also creates room for attacking reinforcements, an area identified as a priority by head coach Luis García Plaza and sporting director José Ignacio Navarro.

Sevilla are already exploring several replacement options across different leagues as they look to strengthen their squad within the club’s revised sporting strategy and financial framework.

This version puts the medical at the center of the opening paragraph, which is the strongest news angle.
