Borussia Dortmund have confirmed their qualification for the next UEFA Champions League season after a dominant 4–0 victory over SC Freiburg on Bundesliga Matchday 31.
The result secured the Black and Yellows a place in Europe’s elite club competition for an 11th consecutive campaign, with the win effectively sealed inside the opening 30 minutes of the contest.
Maximilian Beier opened the scoring before further goals from Serhou Guirassy, Ramy Bensebaini and Fábio Silva completed a commanding performance at home.
For Freiburg, the heavy defeat capped a difficult week, following their exit from the DFB-Pokal semi-final in midweek.
Despite that setback, they now shift attention to European duty, with a UEFA Europa League semi-final tie against SC Braga scheduled for next Thursday (April 30).
The other semi-final will see Nottingham Forest face Aston Villa to determine the second finalist in the competition.
