Martial Godo turned the contest on its head just after the hour mark as Strasbourg cruised to a 4-1 Ligue 1 victory over Lille.
The Côte d’Ivoire forward struck in the 58th minute, ghosting into space six yards out to convert Diego Moreira’s low cross following the restart.
He struck again 14 minutes later, showing sharp instincts at the far post to steer home Julio Enciso’s delivery and complete his brace.
Godo’s influence went far beyond his goals. He made the most of his chances with two goals from two shots, while also creating three key passes and delivering two accurate crosses, continually unsettling Lille’s defence.
Strasbourg’s ability to exploit the flanks ensured Godo remained a constant threat inside the box, keeping the visitors under sustained pressure and firmly in control of the match.
Strasbourg will next welcome Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, while Lille travel to face Lyon.
