Ligue 1: Hakimi bags brace as PSG thrash Brest 3-0

Paris Saint-Germain secured their first Ligue 1 victory in three games on Saturday, cruising past Brest 3-0 at the Stade Francis-Le Ble.

Morocco international Achraf Hakimi was the star of the show, netting twice to restore PSG to the top of the table, though Marseille could overtake them if they win at Lens later.

The first goal came in the 29th minute after a clever chipped pass from Vitinha split Brest’s defense, allowing Hakimi to finish calmly with a low shot.

Just ten minutes later, the defender-turned-winger linked up with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and fired a precise shot into the roof of the net, doubling PSG’s lead.

Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele made his Ligue 1 return in the second half, replacing Hakimi after a lengthy spell out due to injury sustained in late September.

Brest had a chance to get back into the match when Romain Del Castillo missed a penalty in the 59th minute.

However, Desire Doue sealed the win for PSG with a late goal in stoppage time, ensuring the reigning French and European champions left Brittany with all three points.
