EPL: Chelsea stun Liverpool with 2-1 win

Estêvão’s dramatic stoppage-time strike secured a thrilling 2-1 victory for Chelsea over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, ending the Blues’ recent Premier League woes with a moment of pure magic.

After two consecutive league defeats, Chelsea produced a display brimming with courage and creativity.

The breakthrough came in the first half thanks to Moisés Caicedo, who stunned the home crowd with a sensational long-range strike.

Picking up a short pass from Malo Gusto, the Ecuadorian midfielder evaded Alexis Mac Allister before unleashing a 25-yard rocket that sailed into the top corner, leaving debutant goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili helpless.

Chelsea dominated the opening exchanges, pressing Liverpool relentlessly. Reece James shadowed Mohamed Salah down the left flank, forcing the visitors back and exemplifying Chelsea’s disciplined and aggressive approach.

Marc Cucurella’s clever movements on the left produced a couple of near-chances, including one where Alejandro Garnacho fired narrowly wide, followed by a VAR-checked penalty appeal that was dismissed, leaving manager Enzo Maresca frustrated on the touchline.

Liverpool equalised in the second half as Chelsea’s defensive injuries began to mount.

Benoît Badiashile, making his first start of the season, limped off early in the second half, joining Josh Acheampong and others on the sidelines.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s cross found Alexander Isak, whose flick-on allowed Cody Gakpo to finish clinically, leveling the score.

Chelsea’s defensive shape was under siege, leaving Maresca to improvise with Jorrel Hato as the only available centre-back.

Despite the setbacks, Chelsea pressed for a winner. Estêvão, the 18-year-old Brazilian, came alive in stoppage time.

Following a low cross from Cucurella, he slid in to beat Andy Robertson and fire home the decisive goal, sparking celebrations across Stamford Bridge.

Maresca, unable to contain his joy, sprinted down the touchline in ecstasy, though his exuberance eventually saw him shown to the stands.

A moment of brilliance from a young talent sealed a hard-fought victory, giving Chelsea fans a memory to cherish and sending a clear message to the Premier League: despite adversity, this team is capable of producing unforgettable moments.
