UCL: Onyedika not fully fit for Club Brugge, Barcelona clash, says coach

Club Brugge manager, Nicky Hayen, has admitted that Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika is still not fully fit following his recent injury layoff.

Onyedika picked up a hamstring injury in the game against Westerlo last month, which kept him out of action for seven matches across all competitions.

The 24-year-old made his comeback on Saturday, featuring for 26 minutes in Club Brugge’s Belgian Pro League clash with Dender.

“Thirty minutes was the maximum for him (Onyedika) in this match (vs Dender),” Hayen told the club’s official website.

“Can he start against Barcelona (Wednesday)? To make that decision, we have to see what the impact is and how he feels.

“I can already say that it’s out of the question for him to play 90 minutes. That’s too big a step in terms of intensity.”
