Raphael Onyedika has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles can make it to the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Nigeria secured a spot in the round of 16 after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Tunisia in their second Group C match last Saturday.
The Super Eagles had previously opened their campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Tanzania.
Their final group game comes on Tuesday against the Cranes of Uganda, who must win to have any hope of advancing to the knockout stage.
Speaking ahead of the match, Onyedika, who was part of the squad that finished second at the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire, said the team has what it takes to go all the way.
“With the quality of players that we have maybe we can go as far as the final of everything goes well, because in football there’s a lot involve. So if we have luck on our side we can go as far as the final,” he stated.
The midfielder could also make his first appearance at this year’s tournament against Uganda, as coach Eric Chelle might rotate some of his regular starters.
“No one knows who is going to play tomorrow but every player is getting ready because it’s always nice to play in a competition like this which is a big honour.”
Onyedika also praised the leadership of Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, “Under Ndidi’s leadership it feels good, every player is enjoying it.”
