Benfica manager, José Mourinho, has hailed his side’s impressive performance in their 2-0 Champions League victory over Napoli on Wednesday, a result that keeps their playoff hopes alive.
The Portuguese tactician expressed satisfaction with how his players executed the game plan and maintained control throughout the encounter.
“We started very well, everything we prepared happened and I think the players read the game perfectly. They played well, showed spirit, cohesion, intelligence,” Mourinho told TribalFootball.
“Then they showed class, confidence, and managed to exploit the spaces we found. We caused a lot of problems with Ivanovic getting in behind.
“It’s a great win that keeps us in the fight. The next two games will be extremely tough, against Juventus and Real Madrid, but we’re still in it.”
