ToluwaniSings’ uncle demands unbiased probe into singer’s death

A relative of late gospel singer, Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as ToluwaniSings, has called on the government and law enforcement authorities to conduct an impartial investigation into his death, warning against any attempt to interfere with the process.

The man, Lawal Ademola, who identified himself as the singer’s uncle, made the appeal during an interview with Dunmininu Kingdom, which was shared on Facebook on Monday.

Ademola urged government officials, community leaders and security agencies to ensure that the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death were thoroughly investigated without bias or protection for anyone involved.

“Please help us, our elders, as we seek a proper investigation into the death of Sodiq. You who are the government, our leaders, and the law, please enforce the law and empower the investigation so that there won’t be biased judgments or victimisation.

“Nobody should interfere or try to cover things up regarding Sodiq, because this has deeply affected us,” he said.

In another video, the man recounted his visit to the singer’s residence, saying he met some members of the family watching television when he arrived.

He also spoke about disagreements over the singer’s burial arrangements, explaining that he had proposed burying him at the residence where he lived with his wife and children.

However, according to him, the wife opposed the suggestion, saying she would find it difficult to see her husband’s corpse at the house daily, particularly with the children around.

Ademola said the disagreement persisted as other relatives suggested taking the singer’s body to Ikirun for burial, but the wife reportedly rejected the option, describing the location as too far away.

The man referred to the late singer as Sodiq, his birth name from his Muslim family background.

The Punch had earlier reported that ToluwaniSings’ family confirmed his death on October 14, 2026.

Reports surrounding the incident also included allegations that he was taken to eight hospitals before he died.
