Tinubu to inaugurate APC presidential campaign council October 14

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14 as preparations for the 2027 general elections gain momentum.

The inauguration will hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together party leaders and other stakeholders to coordinate the ruling party’s campaign activities.

Former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, disclosed the plan after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Friday.

Yari said the President had approved the proposed campaign timetable, with the party expected to begin its campaign rallies in Kaduna on October 24.

“The President had approved the proposed campaign timetable; activities would commence with a rally in Kaduna on October 24,” he said.

After the Kaduna rally, the campaign team is expected to move to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, as part of its planned nationwide mobilisation.

Other party figures expected to play prominent roles in the campaign include Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu.

Ahead of the inauguration, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Edu, who oversees women mobilisation for the campaign council, have begun efforts to engage women and strengthen the party’s grassroots support.

The women mobilisation directorate is targeting 40 million female voters for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket through outreach activities across 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The strategy is expected to involve community engagement, grassroots networks and public sensitisation on the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0.

The October 14 inauguration will formally set the campaign council’s activities in motion ahead of the first scheduled rally in Kaduna ten days later.

The APC’s preparations come as political parties begin organising their structures and mobilising supporters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
