A previously recorded video of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the man linked to the alleged ₦1.3 billion “ghost agency” scandal, has resurfaced online as the controversy over the purported government agency continues to generate public interest.
The Punch reported that, the footage, originally shared by Chude_ND1, was taken during a press conference held in late June 2026.
In the video, Adeyemi defended his claim as the Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and questioned the position taken by the Presidency and the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
He argued that it was difficult to reconcile the Presidency’s assertion that the agency never existed with its reported inclusion in official budget documents.
“The national budget does not emerge in isolation. It passes through multiple layers of technical drafting, executive coordination, ministerial inputs, Budget Office review, and finally legislative scrutiny by both chambers of the National Assembly,” he said.
The video has resurfaced as scrutiny intensifies over allegations that Adeyemi operated a non-existent government agency, forged official documents and falsely presented himself as the Director-General of the council.
The Presidency has consistently insisted that the agency is fictitious and has called for the prosecution of individuals allegedly involved in facilitating the scheme.
