PDP names caretaker committees for Cross River, Akwa Ibom

The Peoples Democratic Party has set up State Caretaker Committees for its Cross River and Akwa Ibom chapters, aiming to reinforce interim leadership structures ahead of fresh congresses in the states and as part of the party’s broader national reorganisation plan.

This decision was disclosed in a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, in Abuja on Wednesday, following discussions at the national secretariat with senior party officials in attendance.

The National Working Committee, acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee, approved the caretaker committees pursuant to Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution, 2025, as amended.

For Cross River State, Bassey Ewa was appointed Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, with Dr. Bassey Adim as Secretary and Emmanuel Ekpe as Administrative Secretary, tasked with overseeing the interim administration of the party across the state.
