Man Utd table improved offer for Brentford’s Mbeumo

Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo with an improved offer exceeding £60 million, according to BBC Sport.

Earlier this month, United saw an initial bid, reportedly £45 million plus a potential £10 million in add-ons, turned down by Brentford for the 25-year-old Cameroonian.

Negotiations for the dynamic forward are expected to continue in the coming days. If successful, Mbeumo would become United’s second acquisition of the summer transfer window.

Following their £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, the Red Devils are eager to continue bolstering Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of their return to pre-season training on 7 July.

Tottenham’s new boss, Thomas Frank, was reportedly interested in a reunion with Mbeumo, while the attacker is also attracting attention from several Champions League-calibre clubs.

Sources indicate that Brentford are holding out for a fee comparable to the one received by Wolves for Cunha, especially with Mbeumo entering the final year of his contract.

As with Cunha, Mbeumo’s established Premier League pedigree is seen as a crucial asset. Amorim is keen to bring in players who can “hit the ground running” as United aim for a stronger campaign start—something they struggled with during Erik ten Hag’s three-season stint.

Last season, Mbeumo enjoyed his most prolific campaign yet, netting 20 goals and providing nine assists for Brentford.
